Functional beverages cannot replace water. Nutritionists believe that functional beverages generally include vitamins, glucose, minerals, electrolytes, lysine, and some ingredients such as caffeine and taurine in water. These ingredients have certain anti fatigue effects and moderate supplementation of calcium, potassium, minerals, electrolytes, etc., making them more suitable for specific populations and adults with significant physical loss.
Functional beverages are not suitable for everyone
However, children are in the developmental stage and have a small amount of exercise. If these components are supplemented excessively, it will increase the burden of self-regulation for children. Excessive drinking can also exceed the capacity of the child's digestive system, kidneys, liver, and nervous system. Pure fruit juice contains abundant vitamins, especially vitamin C, which can be consumed in moderation by children. However, the sugar content in fruit juice is high, and excessive consumption can cause obesity, diarrhea, and nutritional imbalance. Functional drinks and fruit juice cannot replace Congee, fruits and vegetables, nor can they replace water.
Energy drinks cannot replace water
Water is an important nutrient for human body to maintain normal physiological activities. In addition to its own nutrients, it also plays a role in dissolving and absorbing various nutrients, discharging various metabolic wastes from the body, participating in thermoregulation, and reducing the fatigue element (lactic acid) accumulated in muscles. Primary and secondary school students should drink 1.5 to 2 liters of water per day, with warm water being the best choice. At the same time, children should develop a good eating habit of drinking Congee and eating fruits and vegetables, which is conducive to the healthy growth of children.
