Advantages of erythritol
Leave a message
Compared to xylitol, erythritol has the following advantages:
1. Erythritol is a natural zero calorie sweetener, while xylitol has calories.
2. Erythritol has a higher tolerance than xylitol. Eating too many sugar alcohols can lead to diarrhea, and there is a tolerance issue, with erythritol being the highest tolerance in the human body.
3. The average blood glucose index and average insulin index of erythritol are lower than xylitol, therefore, erythritol has less impact on blood glucose and also has antioxidant activity.
4. Many sugar alcohols feel refreshing when eaten, which comes from the absorption of heat by dissolution. When dissolved, it absorbs your heat, so we feel refreshing. The degree of coolness of each product is expressed by the coefficient of dissolution and absorption heat. Erythritol has the highest dissolution and absorption heat, and its coolness is the highest.
5. In terms of production process, erythritol is the only sugar alcohol produced by fermentation, which is closer to natural transformation and extraction. All other sugar alcohols are produced by hydrogenation, so the production process is different.
6. Erythritol is basically non hygroscopic, while other sugar alcohols have varying degrees of hygroscopicity, which expands the application field if not hygroscopic.
7. Xylitol is mainly used in the candy and pharmaceutical fields in Europe. Although it is required to be added in moderation by FDA and European regulations, excessive intake by the human body can cause symptoms such as elevated blood sugar and diarrhea.
